Do you want to know how to quickly find a photo someone sent in a message? Do you want to turn off noisy notifications for a group message? Or quickly call someone back after they sent you a message?
There are a few “hidden” options available in Messages that are really awesome, let’s look at a few:
- Easy access to ALL photos and files sent from a person or group
- Turn on Do Not Disturb for single message threads (you will no longer receive notifications, this feature is really useful for group messages)
- Turn on Send Read Receipts for single message threads (lets the sender know you have read their messages)
- Quick links to Call or FaceTime
Message Details
- Open the Messages app
- Select a message in the lefthand pane
- Click on Details in the top righthand corner
- (The dropdown menu will change depending on what options are available for that contact)
- If there have been Photos or Files sent or received in the selected message they will be displayed here
- Click in the box to turn on Do Not Disturb for this message thread
- Click in the box to turn on Send Read Receipts for this message thread
- Use the shortcut buttons at the top to Call or start a FaceTime call
