Do you find the constant notifications popping up on your screen distracting? Use the Do Not Disturb feature on your Mac if you are in a meeting, presenting or for your child while they are in lessons or doing homework.

Temporarily Turn Off Notifications

  • Click on the button in the top right hand corner of the Mac screen, it looks like a bulleted list
  • From the Popup menu that appears on the right, scroll up to the top (these options are hidden)
  • Use the slider to turn DO NOT DISTURB on
  • Do not disturb will be turned off until the next day unless you go back and turn it Off

Set Do Not Disturb using a timer

  • Click on System Preferences
  • Click on Notifications
  • Put a tick in the box under Turn on Do Not Disturb
  • Select the times to Start (From) and End (to) the Do No Disturb, we use this option for our kids during School hours
  • Close the Notifications window when finished
